*NOTE OUR NEW MEETING LOCATION!*
Every Saturday morning we gather to reach out to the poor, forgotten and homeless. What is unique about this outreach is that we do not invite the vulnerable to come to us, rather we go to them where they are, in the places they call home. We offer ourselves in service and friendship to the least of our brothers and sisters. We may share a cup of coffee or a snowcone together, provide some clothing, say a prayer, connect them with a vital social service or just listen. Once a month we celebrate everyones birthday together. By offering ourselves to our discarded and disenfranchised friends with no hidden agenda we open up the possibility for God’s surprises.
The morning begins with a short time of worship and prayer. Then we hit the streets where we primarily encounter the chronically homeless who live or frequent the area we refer to as our parish. This is a 4 x 5 block area in the Old 4th Ward of Atlanta centered on Pine Street where approximately 1,000 homeless individuals will pass through every day.
